Build apps from ChatGPT or Claude
Connect the omg apps MCP server, describe an app or a game, and get a live link with a database, sign-in and live updates.
The omg apps server lets a chat assistant build and publish a full-stack web
app for you. You describe the app. The assistant writes the files, omg builds
them, and you get a link at https://<your-app>.omgs.app to share.
Every app gets these with no setup:
- A database. Collections are defined in one
schema.tsfile. - Live updates. Every open browser sees each change at once, so votes, boards, chats and two-player games work from the first version.
- Sign-in with an omg account, when the app needs private data.
- AI and media generation through the
@omg-dev/*packages.
Endpoint
https://mcp.omg.dev/appsThe endpoint uses OAuth 2.1. Your client registers itself and opens the
omg.dev consent screen. The only permission is omg:apps: create, edit and
publish your omg apps. It cannot run commands on an omg Computer.
Connect from ChatGPT
Custom MCP servers are added on the web. After you add one, it also works in the ChatGPT desktop and mobile apps.
- Open ChatGPT Plugins.
- Select Add, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter a name, such as
omg apps. - Under Connection, enter
https://mcp.omg.dev/apps. - Keep OAuth as the authentication. ChatGPT finds the omg.dev sign-in by itself.
- Read the risk notice, select I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.
- Select Connect omg apps, sign in to omg.dev and select Allow.
- Start a new chat, type
@omg apps, and describe your app.
Connect from Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http omg-apps https://mcp.omg.dev/appsThe first tool call opens the omg.dev sign-in.
Tools
| Tool | Purpose |
|---|---|
omg_app_guide | The rules for the starter, data, sign-in and deploys, with a complete example. The assistant reads it first. |
omg_deploy_app | Build and publish an app from the files the assistant wrote. Returns the app link and a management link. |
omg_app_status | Wait for the build. A failed build returns the error and the end of the build log, so the assistant can fix it. |
omg_app_visibility | public lets anyone with the link open the app. omg-users asks visitors to sign in to omg first. A new app starts as omg-users. |
Prompts to try
- Make a team vote app. Anyone with the link can add an option and vote, and everyone sees the counts update live.
- Make a two-player tic-tac-toe game I can play with a friend on our phones.
- Make a guestbook where people sign in and leave a message.
Shared data and private data
A collection is private by default. Each signed-in person sees only their own
rows. For data that every visitor shares, such as votes or a game board, the
assistant adds .scoped("global") to the collection. See the
schema reference and useQuery.
Change an app
Ask the assistant for a change in the same chat. It sends all of the app's
files again with the app's projectId. Each app also has a management page on
omg.dev, where you can rename it, set secrets and change who can open it.
